Oklahoma Security Guard Practice Exam

A critical aspect of a security guard's duties regarding crime incidents is to ensure safety first and avoid confrontation. This principle prioritizes the well-being of the guard, the public, and potential victims. Confrontations can escalate situations, leading to increased danger for everyone involved.

By adopting a safety-first approach, guards are trained to assess situations properly, maintain their own safety, and that of others while remaining vigilant and observant. They are encouraged to report incidents to law enforcement or their supervisors rather than engaging in direct confrontations, which could lead to physical altercations or misunderstandings.

The focus on safety allows security personnel to effectively manage an incident by observing and documenting relevant details without putting themselves or others at unnecessary risk. This responsibility enhances the overall security environment and fosters a more effective response from law enforcement if necessary.
